How it works
When you give away a ticket, the app generates a ticket code that you send to the recipient, for example in a message. The recipient redeems the code in the app and takes ownership of the entire ticket. The code is valid for 75 minutes and must be redeemed within that time. If it is not redeemed, the ticket is returned to you.
To give away a single ticket or a Movingo season ticket, you need to verify your identity using BankID in My account. The recipient does not need an account or BankID to receive the ticket. Tickets purchased on the website can also be given away once you have logged in to the app.
Rebooking a single ticket: The recipient can rebook the single ticket for another departure on the same route, but must first verify their identity using BankID in My account.
The difference between giving away and lending a Movingo ticket
Giving away a ticket is different from lending a Movingo ticket. When you give away a Movingo season ticket, it is permanently transferred to the recipient and will not be returned to you. When you lend an activated Movingo ticket, it is returned to you at the end of each service day. Read more about lending your Movingo ticket here.
Give away a ticket – step by step
Log in to My account in the app using BankID.
Open the ticket you want to give away.
Select Give away ticket.
For a Movingo ticket, verify your identity again using BankID.
Copy the ticket code and send it to the recipient.
The recipient selects Redeem ticket code, enters the code and accepts the terms and conditions of purchase.
Tip: Allow plenty of time to give away or redeem a ticket, especially close to departure.
Frequently asked questions
Which tickets can I give away?
You can give away a single ticket up until the train’s scheduled departure time, provided it has not been activated or rebooked. A Movingo season ticket can be given away while it is inactive, meaning before the day on which it becomes valid. If the ticket covers several passengers, the entire ticket is transferred, including all passengers on it.
Does the recipient need My account and BankID?
No. The recipient does not need to be logged in or use BankID to redeem the code and receive the ticket. However, as the person giving away the ticket, you must be logged in to My account using BankID. Giving away a Movingo ticket also requires an additional BankID verification.
Can the recipient rebook a ticket I have given them?
If you have given away a single ticket, the recipient can rebook it in the app for the same route on a different day and at a different departure time. To do so, the recipient must be logged in to My account in the app using BankID.
A single ticket can be rebooked up to three times.
If you have given away a Movingo ticket, the recipient cannot rebook it. You choose the ticket’s activation date when giving it away, and the recipient cannot change it.
How long is the ticket code valid?
The ticket code is valid for 75 minutes. If the recipient does not redeem it within that time, the ticket is returned to you. You can then give it away again, provided it still meets the conditions.
How is this different from lending a Movingo ticket?
When you give away a Movingo season ticket, it is permanently transferred to the recipient. When you lend an activated Movingo ticket, it is returned to you at the end of each service day, at 03:30.
Can I give away a ticket I have received from someone else?
No. A ticket can only be given away once. However, a Movingo ticket you have received can be lent to someone else under the usual rules.

Can I get a refund for a ticket someone has given me?
The same refund conditions apply as for other tickets. You must be able to provide the receipt.
The ticket code is not working. What should I do?
Check that you have entered the code correctly and that it has not expired or already been redeemed. A code can only be used once.
If the code should still be valid but is not working, contact Customer Service.
