About the campaign

Between 1 June and 31 August 2025, if you buy a single ticket with Mälartåg in our app or on malardalstrafik.se, you can bring two children up to and including 11 years old at no extra cost, regardless of travel category. If you're travelling with more than two children per paying passanger, you'll need to purchase youth tickets for the additional children.

The offer only applies to single tickets purchased through our own channels. If you're travelling with Movingo, another period ticket, or a single ticket bought from a reseller (such as SJ), the regular rules apply: two children up to and including 6 years old per paying adult.

Traveling alone

Children up to 6 years old are not allowed to travel alone on our trains. For older children, it is up to the guardian to assess whether the child can travel independently. Children traveling without an adult must be able to take care of themselves throughout the journey, including in case of travel disruptions.

Onboard the train

On the train, there are spaces to store strollers, larger luggage, as well as a large toilet with a changing table and a smaller toilet.

Strollers

Strollers should be placed in the Flex car. If the designated area is already full, you can, space permitting, place the stroller in the vestibule of the same carriage. In other carriages, there is space for a folded stroller under the luggage racks on the lower levels. If requested by onboard staff, strollers must be folded and stored in the designated area.
